The Senate of Kazakhstan has approved an agreement with Uzbekistan, which allows to increase the period of visa-free stay of citizens of both countries.

In accordance with this agreement, Uzbek citizens have the opportunity to stay in Kazakhstan without registration for up to 30 days, instead of the previous five. Similar conditions are provided to citizens of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan, reports Zakon.kz.

As indicated in the conclusion of the Senate Committee on Constitutional Legislation, the Judiciary and Law Enforcement Agencies, citizens of one of the states can enter, leave, transit and move around the territory of the other party without a special temporary residence permit within 30 days from the moment of crossing the border. This rule applies provided that the total stay does not exceed 90 days for every 180 days.

If the period of stay exceeds 30 days, citizens are obliged to apply to the relevant authorities for a temporary residence permit.

The innovation will have a positive impact on economic relations, business cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.
