According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, according to preliminary data, a native of Namangan region fell from the fourth floor of an apartment building while living in Izmir. The victim was hospitalized in a state hospital, her condition was assessed as serious.
Despite the medical assistance provided, it was not possible to save her - Sevdora Khakimjonova died.
It was established that she was married to a Turkish citizen on the basis of a religious (imamic) ceremony, which was not officially registered. According to reports, the wedding ceremony took place in the Chust district.
After that, the couple moved to Izmir, where they lived with her husband's relatives. It is noted that her husband, like herself, had hearing and speech impairments.
Turkish law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case into the incident. Investigative actions are underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident, and the materials have been submitted to the prosecutor's office for consideration.
The situation is under the control of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul. The Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the diplomatic services, is also carrying out the necessary organizational measures for the repatriation of the body.
It is reported that the body of the deceased was delivered to Uzbekistan on March 23 on the Istanbul- Andijan flight.
