China launched the optical observation satellite "Seraei-Gaojing-20-3" and "Seraei-Gaojing-20-4" using a launch vehicle "Changzheng-2-xi" from the Jiuquan cosmodrome in the north-west of the country.
The launch, China Central Television reported, was carried out at 07:39 Beijing time (02:39 Moscow time). The satellites have already been placed in the specified orbit.
Chinese television does not provide details about the launch of the devices, noting only that it was the 547th launch using the Changzheng series launch vehicles.
It is known that the Serwei-Gaojing satellites belong to the commercial company China Seaview Survey and Mapping Technology, a subsidiary of the Chinese Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The devices provide optical Earth observation data used for topographic surveying and mapping, disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as for monitoring the situation at sea, reports tass.ru.
