ISS Commander Andrew Feustel met with Uzbek journalists in Tashkent

One of NASA's most experienced astronauts, Commander of the International Space Station Andrew Feustel, who performed 9 spacewalks and spent 226 days in orbit, arrived in Uzbekistan on a visit.

He is currently collaborating with the American company Vast, which is implementing projects to create a new generation of orbital stations. The Haven-1 project is considered one of the first commercial space stations in the world.

During the visit, the astronaut met with representatives of the Uzbek media with the participation of the Uzcosmos agency. He stressed that a key factor in the development of the space industry in Uzbekistan is investment in human capital - the training of engineers, programmers and the development of scientific thinking.

Feustel also noted the importance of involving young people in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and highlighted the scientific heritage of Uzbekistan, including the contribution of Mirzo Ulugbek, as the basis for the future development of astronautics.
