On April 23 of this year, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov took part in the international business forum held in Jizzakh as part of the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev to widely promote regional investment opportunities.

The event was attended by heads of ministries and departments, industry associations, local authorities and more than 350 representatives of top management of large foreign companies from more than 30 countries.

Addressing the participants of the forum, Laziz Kudratov noted the fundamental reforms implemented in Uzbekistan over the past 8 years, the results of which were the liberalization of the currency, the reform of the tax and customs systems, the elimination of monopolies, the reduction of the state's presence in key sectors and open opportunities for private entrepreneurship.

The fruits of these efforts are evident - Uzbekistan attracted $35 billion in foreign direct investment last year, ten times more than in 2017. GDP growth exceeds 6% per year. Exporters are actively integrating into global markets through tools such as the GSP+ preference system, which allows them to export duty-free over 6,200 types of products to Europe. By 2030, Uzbekistan is preparing to become an upper-middle-income country, double exports to $45 billion and GDP to $200 billion.

The importance of using regional potential in the development of the country was emphasized. In this context, Laziz Kudratov cited a number of factors that create the basis for the region's investment attractiveness - its unique geographical location, land resources, growing infrastructure, and skilled labor.

The region is rapidly developing the production of building materials, textiles, agriculture, and tourism, which makes Jizzakh an attractive place for long-term investments.

"Today's forum is not just a solemn meeting. This is a platform for action. I urge each of you to take full advantage of this day. Most importantly, let this be the beginning of a real, long-term partnership," said the head of the MIPT.
