The growth point of the mahalla has become an industrial zone

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Kumtepa youth small industrial zone in Uychi district of Namangan region.

The issues of developing professions and crafts historically established in mahallas, turning them into drivers and thereby increasing employment and income of the population, have today been raised to the level of state policy. Blacksmithing is developing in such mahallas of Uychi district as Kumtepa, Dehkon, Balandarik and Jiydakapa.

In 2021, an industrial zone specializing in blacksmithing was created here, with the necessary conditions for craftsmen and artisans working from home. Occupying three hectares, the complex has all the required infrastructure, including roads, energy, drinking water, and sewerage.

In the first stage, 52 projects were implemented here, and more than 1,500 jobs were created. Artisans purchase raw materials from the Asia Metal Prof enterprise and the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant and make gates, doors, canopies, grilles, and other metal products.

The demand for these products is high. Therefore, entrepreneurs opened their trading houses and production branches in all areas. In addition, products worth $1.2 million were exported to neighboring countries.

Energy-saving methods are introduced in the production process, and solar panels are used effectively.

As part of the second stage, it is planned to implement another 45 projects on an area of two hectares. As a result, another 1,330 new jobs will be created.

The President instructed responsible persons on the effective use of the territory of the industrial zone, encouraging young people and unemployed citizens to engage in crafts.

The tasks of reducing unemployment through work at the mahalla level were also discussed here.

Based on Saykhunabad’s experience, 788 mahallas in 14 districts of the region are assigned heads and responsible employees of economic organizations. Together with the “mahalla of seven,” they studied the capabilities of 557 thousand households.

“In Saykhunabad, I said that “this year will be a year of vital awakening and the rise of our economy”. The goal is to invest in human capital, encourage activity, and change the worldview. Uychi is also a difficult area economically. It is necessary to establish a new system here, to help the unemployed earn income from their plots, open their own business, and realize their abilities”, the President said.

The Head of state also visited the center of Kumtepa mahalla and got acquainted with the conditions created for the population.

About 5.2 thousand people live in the mahalla. Households specialize in metal processing, agriculture, and services.

This year, the appearance of the mahalla improved. A new building was built for the citizens’ assembly. All houses are connected to the water supply. Internal roads and electrical networks were repaired. As part of the Yashil Makon (Green Space) program, fruit and ornamental trees were planted along the roads.

The mahalla has a sewing workshop, a beauty salon, sports grounds, a medical center, a library, grocery stores, and pharmacies.

An Entrepreneur Support Center has also been created in the new mahalla building. Here, the population and entrepreneurs can take advantage of some government services. The President approved this, emphasizing the need to resolve issues related to government bodies in the mahallas themselves, if possible.
