The
document was signed by Director of the Agency for Management Efficiency under
the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Khusainov, Minister of Higher
Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbai Sharipov, the Agency for
Vocational Education, as well as Chairman of IMC Krems University of Applied
Sciences Heinz Boyer.
The
memorandum is aimed at training qualified personnel meeting international standards
for the fields of hospitality, tourism management, hotel business and service,
increasing the institutional capacity of educational institutions, as well as
modernizing the system of professional and higher education.
As part of
the document, it is planned to transform existing professional educational
institutions in the cities of Bukhara and Namangan into international schools
of hotel management based on a joint Austrian-Uzbek initiative. It also
provides for the implementation of consulting and design work with the
participation of Austrian experts, as well as the organization of professional
development programs for Uzbek teachers and specialists.
The parties
also agreed to develop diploma and academic programs in the field of
Hospitality Management in accordance with the requirements of the European
Qualifications Framework (EQF), to hold conferences, forums and symposiums on
the introduction of innovative approaches in the field of tourism and
hospitality.
The
memorandum was signed for a period of three years. As part of its
implementation, it is planned to establish close cooperation between government
departments, higher educational institutions, professional educational
organizations and industry representatives.
