Foreign Ministry: more than five thousand Uzbeks were evacuated from the territory of Ukraine

    On March 8-9, 2022, 250 Uzbek citizens, including 62 women, 28 children and 8 infants, were returned from Ukraine via the airport in Katowice (Poland).

    According to the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 22 flights took place from February 28 to March 9 this year. 5037 compatriots were taken out of the combat zone.

    There is a tendency to decrease the number of Uzbek citizens arriving from Ukraine at the checkpoint "Karchova" (Poland).

    Another flight is scheduled for March 9.

    The Embassy of our country in Ukraine ensured the evacuation of 23 Uzbek students from Sumy under the auspices of international humanitarian organizations, who were sent to Lviv by a bus rented by the diplomatic mission.

    Work on the removal of citizens from various parts of Ukraine continues with an emphasis on the evacuation of compatriots in remote areas on the line of hostilities.

    Uzbek diplomats are in the Republic of Moldova to study the issue of the evacuation of compatriots from this country.
