A regional intersectoral industrial fair has started on the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan

    On October 24 of this year, a regional intersectoral industrial fair started in the free trade zone "Termez International Trade Center", established on the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in the Termez district of Surkhandarya region.

    Under the coordination of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the fair was organized jointly with the Khokimiyat of Surkhandarya region, the Center for Digital Transformation, the Termez International Trade Center Free Trade Zone, the Uzpromstroymaterialy and Uzkhimprom Associations.

    The purpose of the event is to increase the production of modern, competitive, export-oriented, import-substituting products, further build-up of industrial potential, and expand the scale of localization.

    The two-day regional intersectoral industrial fair is attended by five large backbone enterprises of our country and more than 200 local manufacturers representing the fields of agriculture, food, chemical, leather, footwear and textile industries, fruit and vegetable processing, and production of building materials. Over 500 types of their products are presented by the exhibitors.

    The Afghan delegation participating in the fair got acquainted with the expositions, visited the Hilton hotel located in the free trade zone, the AKFA MEDLINE clinic, the logistics terminal and the showroom.

    The representatives of the delegation expressed interest in establishing trade relations and signing a number of bilateral agreements.

    In general, agreements on signing agreements and contracts worth 250 billion soums are expected to be reached within the framework of the interregional industry fair.
