The II CIS Games, which started on August 4 in Belarus, have come to an end. The delegation of Uzbekistan won 106 medals (28 gold, 25 silver and 53 bronze), taking third place in the team standings after Russia and Belarus.
It is worth noting that in this way the national team of our country has updated its best result at the CIS Games in terms of the total number of awards and medals won of the highest standard.
In these competitions, which were held in an open format, 13 countries, except the CIS countries, performed in some sports. A total of 246 medals in 20 disciplines were awarded at the current Games.
The next CIS Games will be held in Azerbaijan in 2025.
The third Commonwealth of Independent States Games have ended in Azerbaijan. On the final day of the competition, Uzbek athletes won a bronze medal in the rhythmic gymnastics team performance in exercises with five hoops and five pairs of maces.
