16 agreements worth $45 million were signed at the Uzbek-Afghan business forum in Kabul

    An Uzbek-Afghan business forum and B2B meetings were organized as part of a visit to Kabul by a delegation consisting of representatives of the Uzbek business community led by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhobov.

    Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Ahmadullah Zahid highly appreciated the foreign policy, cooperation and efforts of the President of Uzbekistan to comprehensively support the Afghan people in the international arena.

    He also noted the opening of the International Trade Center in Termez and the trading houses of Uzbekistan in Kabul and Mazar-I-Sharif, emphasizing the importance of effective use of their opportunities by representatives of the business community of both countries.

    In turn, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhobov stressed that thanks to the efforts of the governments of the two countries, the volume of mutual trade has grown significantly in recent years.

    Chairman of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment Muhammad Yunus Momand highlighted the active development of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and expressed gratitude to the Uzbek leadership for the benefits provided to Afghan entrepreneurs.

    After the official part of the event, a business forum and B2B meetings were held with the participation of 96 Uzbek and 110 Afghan entrepreneurs. During the talks, prospects for the implementation of joint projects in the food and electrical industries, as well as the production of building materials were discussed.

    As a result of the negotiations, 16 agreements were signed for a total of 45 million US dollars.
