The
Ministry of Culture announced this.
It is
noted that the main goal of the prestigious cultural forum, organized
biennially since 2018, is to widely promote, preserve, and develop the art of
Maqom, which is one of the unique genres of Eastern classical musical art,
increase interest in this art form among youth, and strengthen international
cultural, scientific, and creative cooperation.
Within the
framework of the forum, a scientific-practical conference, an international
contest among maqom ensembles, singers, and instrumentalists, as well as solo
concerts featuring well-known artists from Uzbekistan and abroad, will be
organized.
The
winners of the contest will be awarded diplomas, statuettes, and the following
cash prizes:

Grand Prix —
15,000 US dollars;
·
First place (2 winners) — 10,000 US dollars each;
·
Second place (2 winners) — 7,000 US dollars each;
·
Third place (2 winners) — 5,000 US dollars each.
Special
awards will also be presented in the nominations of "Best Maqom
Singer", "Best Maqom Instrumentalist", "Best Maqom
Master", "Best Maqom Promoter", "Best Young Maqom
Performer", and "Best Maqom Composer".
The
organizers emphasized that the 3rd International Maqom Art Forum will serve to
widely promote the national musical heritage on a global scale, develop
intercultural dialogue, and bring international cooperation in the field of art
to a new level.
