During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing reforms in the field of children's rights in Uzbekistan and stressed that ensuring children's rights is an important strategic direction of state policy.
It was noted that within the framework of this area, more than 40 legislative acts aimed at protecting children's rights have been adopted in the national legislation of Uzbekistan.
The parties stressed the importance and effectiveness of implementing joint projects in the field of protecting the rights and interests of children and youth.
During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on issues of upbringing, reproductive health, improving the legal literacy of school-age children, as well as their protection from all forms of violence.
In addition, issues of expanding cooperation in the field of improving the legal and institutional foundations of education, inclusive education and healthcare systems were discussed.
Following the meeting, further steps were identified to strengthen cooperation between the Senate and UNICEF in areas of mutual interest.
