Khalikulov Utkir Mirzakamolovich was appointed as Vice-rector for academic affairs of the Almalyk State Technical Institute and also as the Rector of the Institute.
The appointment was made by order of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
U. Khalikulov is a Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, and previous to his appointment, he worked as deputy Director – Head of Administrative Affairs at the Almalyk Branch of "MISIS" University.
The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the establishment of a branch of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University in Tashkent" (No. PP–276 dated 09/08/2025) was adopted.
The Decree of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan (No. 578 dated 09/13/2025) approved the Regulation on the procedure for admission to the bachelor's degree in higher education institutions.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the number of full-time students in higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year was 707.3 thousand people.
On May 7 of this year, the assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the launch of one of the country's key educational projects - the creation of a new technical university, Tashkent Tech.
