According to the results of the qualification stages, representatives of our country managed to secure a total of 4 quotas. The following athletes will defend the honor of our country in the Olympic Games:
Medet Nazarov — Alpine Skiing (Slalom and Giant Slalom events);
Daniil Eibog — Short-track Speed Skating (500-meter distance).
Unfortunately, there has been a change in our figure skating pair, Dmitry Chigirev and Ekaterina Geinish, who had secured a quota. Due to an injury sustained during training that Dmitry Chigirev could not recover from in time for the Olympics, our representatives will not be able to participate in this discipline.
Starting today, the initial competitions of the Olympic Games are kicking off. According to the schedule, curling qualification matches begin today.
The official opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics will take place on February 6. The competitions will continue until February 22.
For reference: The Milan-Cortina 2026 Games are the largest winter sports event of the year, where the world's strongest athletes will compete for victory.
