Uzbekistan Reaches Agreements with Three More Countries on WTO Accession

Uzbekistan has reached agreements with three more countries — Argentina, Australia, and Honduras — on its path to joining the World Trade Organization (WTO).

This was announced on LinkedIn by Azizbek Urunov, the President’s Special Representative on WTO Affairs.

Uzbekistan signed bilateral protocols on market access with these countries.

“This is a clear sign of growing support and partnership for Uzbekistan’s integration into the multilateral trading system,” Urunov wrote.

It was also noted that Uzbekistan had reached agreements in principle with two other WTO members, though details were not provided.

“These agreements not only advance our accession negotiations, but also create new channels for economic cooperation, trade diversification, and stronger business ties with partners across different regions of the world. Each signature brings Uzbekistan closer to becoming a full member of the WTO — opening new opportunities for our economy, our region, and our global trading partners,” the President’s representative said.

It was further emphasized that the number of countries Uzbekistan has reached agreements with on WTO accession now stands at 29. With two more members, the foundations are already in place, and only three countries remain to complete bilateral negotiations. “A countdown from three,” Urunov stressed.
