At the meeting, which also included members of the delegation, current issues related to the further expansion of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, including parliamentary cooperation, were discussed.

A high assessment was given to the Friendship League’s contribution, particularly its Chairman, Taro Aso, to promoting multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.

The importance of further intensifying interparliamentary contacts and strengthening the role of parliamentary friendship groups in advancing joint initiatives was noted.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize the next Interparliamentary Forum in Uzbekistan in 2026.

The Friendship League with Uzbekistan was established in 2002 and currently has more than 40 members. Its membership includes prominent Japanese political figures, authoritative deputies, and diplomats.
