The President of Uzbekistan notes with satisfaction the dynamically developing inter-parliamentary relations with Türkiye

    On May 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the delegation of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, led by the Assembly Chair, Numan Kurtulmuş, who is in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

    The Chair of the Turkish Parliament conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the President of Uzbekistan.

    Current issues of deepening comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye were discussed.

    The highest level of bilateral cooperation, ongoing active contacts and exchanges at all levels were noted with satisfaction.

    Indicators of mutual trade turnover and investment are growing, and the number of joint projects and enterprises and the frequency of flights are increasing. Joint cultural events are held in the two countries.

    Fruitful ties have been established between the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and Türkiye.

    The importance of further developing inter-parliamentary relations, active participation of friendship groups, and specialized committees in developing the Uzbekistan – Türkiye cooperation agenda and ensuring control over the implementation of agreements at the highest level was emphasized.

    Particular attention was paid to promoting investment programs and stimulating tourism, business, and educational exchange.

    The prospects for interaction between parliaments within the framework of international structures, particularly the Organization of Turkic States, were also discussed.
