Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sincerely thanked the President of Uzbekistan for his participation in the events on the occasion of the national holiday in Hungary – St. Stephen’s Day and in the finals of the men’s race at the World Athletics Championships, which is taking place these days in Budapest.
In turn, the Leader of Uzbekistan cordially congratulated the head of the Government and the friendly people of Hungary on the national holiday. It was especially noted that holding the World Championships in Budapest testifies to this country’s great traditions and high sports achievements in recent years.
Issues of further deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Hungary and building multifaceted cooperation were discussed.
The progressive dynamics of the development of practical interaction in all areas were noted with great satisfaction. High-level agreements are being effectively implemented. Fruitful contacts have been established at parliaments, governments, agencies, and regional administrations.
The trade turnover is growing, and the cooperation of leading enterprises in various sectors of the economy is strengthening.
The entry of the Hungarian OTP Bank into the banking and financial market of Uzbekistan was called a strategic project and an essential signal for European business.
In addition, such large Hungarian companies as Bonafarm, Gedeon Richter, Meditop, Wizz Air, and others are actively involved in trade, economic, and investment cooperation projects with Uzbekistan.
Further promoting joint programs in the cultural and humanitarian sphere was emphasized.
The launch of direct flights between Tashkent and Budapest from August 20 this year was noted as a significant event contributing to the intensification of business ties and an increase in the tourist flow.
A thorough exchange of views took place on the regional agenda, including within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
It was agreed to continue close and constructive cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and other international platforms.
