During the conversation that took place after the ceremony, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of relations in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh, the Dunyo news agency reports.

Muhammad Shahabuddin called Uzbekistan a key regional partner and reliable friend of Bangladesh in Central Asia. He emphasized that thanks to dynamic reforms in all spheres of life and consistent initiatives implemented in recent years under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country's international prestige and image are growing.

It was noted that the Government of Bangladesh attaches special importance to the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The significant potential for partnership in such areas as the textile, pharmaceutical and leather industries was emphasized. Bangladesh expressed its willingness to share experiences and jointly implement new projects in these areas.

Special attention was paid to the development of partnership in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, in particular, in the field of tourism and higher education.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh were established on October 15, 1992.

The new Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Sardor Rustambayev, arrived in New Delhi in January 2024. Prior to that, he headed the diplomatic mission of our country in France and Portugal.
