The Korean government has allocated a grant of $3.8 million to Uzbekistan for the Statistical Capacity Building project

    Important cooperation has begun between the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Korea within the framework of the project "Statistical Capacity Building" for 2025-2028.

    This project is funded by a grant of 3.8 million US dollars under the Official Development Assistance Program (ODA) of the Government of the Republic of Korea and is aimed at modernizing the statistical system of our country, introducing digital technologies and international experience.

    Currently, representatives of the Statistical Office of Korea are on a visit to the National Committee on Statistics to discuss the final directions of the project. During the discussions, special attention was paid to staff development. In this direction, training courses will be organized for the staff of the National Committee both in Uzbekistan and in Korea. In addition, the Institute for Advanced Training and Statistical Research will create modern classrooms equipped with computer and audio equipment.

    The CATI system (conducting telephone interviews using a computer) will be implemented as part of the project, which will allow for efficient and accurate sampling. An administrative database management system will also be created, data integration between government agencies will be ensured, and statistical analysis will be performed on automated and reliable platforms.

    This project promotes the introduction of innovations and high technologies into the statistical system of Uzbekistan, as well as the development of the industry in accordance with international standards.
