The Chairman of the Senate met with representatives of the Board of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries

    On December 13, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva held a meeting with a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Board of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbul oglu. The delegation arrived in Uzbekistan to take part in the XV Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS countries.

    It should be noted that the CIS Foundation is an international non-profit organization and was established in accordance with the Agreement of May 25, 2006, signed by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

    The meeting discussed prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the foundation, and in particular, issues of strengthening multilateral ties in the field of culture, science, education, and other humanitarian spheres, and the implementation of joint projects in this direction.

    The Chairman of the Senate T. Narbayeva stressed the need to effectively use the capabilities of the CIS interstate structures, primarily the Interstate Fund, to further strengthen and expand cultural and humanitarian cooperation for the benefit of our peoples.

    The Chairman of the Board of the Foundation P. Bulbul oglu outlined the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and noted that he himself was witnessing cardinal changes taking place in all spheres of activity, including in the cultural and humanitarian direction. According to him, this is evidence that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays great attention to science, culture and youth issues.

    The sides also exchanged views on establishing a permanent dialogue between the academic circles of the CIS member states, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
