At the meeting, the significant role of parliaments in promoting the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan was noted. Representatives of the House of Councillors actively participated in the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s 150th-anniversary session in Tashkent in April this year.
Particular attention was paid to supporting youth parliamentary initiatives, including hosting the Forum of Young Parliamentarians of Uzbekistan and Japan and the participation of the Japanese delegation at the Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Samarkand in 2026.
The importance of comprehensive parliamentary assistance in the practical implementation of high-level agreements has been emphasized, particularly in expanding trade, economic, financial, investment, technological, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
