In the beginning of the conversation, the leaders exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the coming New Year, sincerely wishing the brotherly people of the two countries peace and prosperity. The Head of our state also conveyed warm wishes to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Topical issues of further developing Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership in the context of high-level agreements, were reviewed.
The active contacts at all levels were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover and freight volumes are dynamically increasing. Cooperation in the sphere of energy, industry, agriculture and water management, transport is expanding. The launch of cross-border trade zone “Shavat – Dashoguz” took place. Interregional, business, cultural and humanitarian exchanges were intensified.
An exchange of views on key aspects of regional cooperation also took place.
The Head of our state separately emphasized the successful organization of major summits in Avaza and a Forum in Ashgabat dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and International year of peace and trust.
The schedule of meetings in the upcoming year was reviewed, an agreement was reached to continue joint organization of international and regional events.
