The heads of Emirati companies also attended the meeting: Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Etihad Water & Electricity CEO Yousif Al Ali, and TAQA Water Solutions CEO Ahmed Al Shamsi.
The minister conveyed warm greetings to the Leader of Uzbekistan from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, Vice President Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled Al Nahyan.
The issues related to strengthening friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE were discussed.
The dynamic development of cooperation in all areas was noted with satisfaction. Trade volumes, the number of joint ventures, and the frequency of air routes continue to grow steadily. The project portfolio has reached $20 billion.
Measures to prepare and advance projects in transport and logistics, food security, the mining and metallurgical industry, energy, and other priority fields were reviewed.
In recent years, within the energy sector, six projects worth $1.5 billion have been implemented in Uzbekistan’s regions in cooperation with Masdar.
Today, another solar power plant and an energy storage system were commissioned in Bukhara region, and construction of similar facilities began in Kashkadarya region, with a total value exceeding $600 million.
The heads of the Emirati companies informed the Head of State about their plans to build a wind power plant and storage facilities, construct hydroelectric power stations, and the progress made in establishing wastewater treatment facilities.
