Opponents of the construction of the Tesla plant near Berlin refused to descend from the trees

Climate activists protesting against the expansion of the Tesla plant near Berlin have refused to descend from the trees where they are hiding from the police.

According to the Report, Spiegel magazine writes about this with reference to the local police.

Law enforcement officers are preparing to resume attempts to remove them from there on Wednesday.

"The police operation to pull protesters against the expansion of the Tesla plant from the trees will resume today before noon. Some activists are still sitting on branches or trees, refusing to leave the camp," the article says.

Initially, the activists were only supposed to temporarily vacate part of the camp's territory so that the land in this zone would be examined for the presence of explosive old shells. However, the authorities of the Grunheide community have completely banned entry into the forest since Wednesday "due to non-compliance with public safety and violation of order."

Eco-activists are protesting against the logging of more than 100 hectares of forest for the expansion of Tesla. In February, they set up camp in the vicinity of Berlin and equipped themselves with shelters made of planks on trees. The day before, the police began to liquidate the camp. Most of the activists voluntarily left it after the appearance of law enforcement officers, but some refused to leave their shelters.
