According to Uzbekistan Airports, the crew of the Boeing 787 decided to head to an alternate airfield due to the deteriorating health of one of the passengers on board.
The plane landed safely in Samarkand at 03:40 Tashkent time. The passenger, a French citizen born in 1959, was promptly provided with medical assistance. According to preliminary information, he was suspected of having a heart attack. The passenger and two accompanying persons were handed over to the doctors for further examination and treatment.
After completing the necessary procedures, the aircraft continued its flight. At 05:11 local time, he flew from Samarkand to Istanbul.
