Starting from January 1, 2025, public transport in Tashkent will rise in price to 3,000 soums

    From January 1, 2025, new tariffs will begin to operate in Tashkent public transport, and cash payment will be completely canceled. This became known from the draft resolution of the khokim of the city of Tashkent.

    This decision was made in order to improve the quality of transport services and transparency of payments.

    According to the draft, new tariffs for public transport will be introduced in Tashkent from January 1, 2025:

    the basic cost of one trip is 3,000 soums (currently 2,000 soums);

    the cost of the trip when paying via an electronic payment system is 1,700 soums (including an incentive discount);

    baggage transportation - 4,000 soums;

    the tariff for payments on subscription cards will remain at the level of 1,600 soums per trip.

    As part of the reform of the urban transport system, new tariff plans will also be introduced, depending on the number of trips. At the same time, the current preferential and free fares, providing for transfers within an hour, will remain unchanged.

    The practice of accepting cash will be completely abolished on all public transport routes, and payment for travel will be possible only in electronic form.

    Control over the implementation of these innovations is entrusted to the deputy khokim of the city of Tashkent.
