Samarkand is hosting the FIA General Assembly for the first time

    The Extraordinary General Assembly of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) starts in Samarkand, which will last from June 10 to 13.

    The FIA, founded in 1904, is the governing body of world motorsport and a federation uniting the leading global organizations in the field of mobility, ranging from karting to Formula 1.

    This event, the first of its kind in Central Asia, will also be a celebration of the 120th anniversary of the FIA. It will be attended by more than 500 high-ranking guests from 147 countries, including heads of national federations and famous racers.

    In particular, the President of the FIA, Mr. Mohammed Bin Sulayem, arrived in Samarkand. The guest of honor was met by the governor of the region Erkin Turdimov, Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, as well as the leadership of the National Olympic Committee and the National Federation of Motorsport and Karting of Uzbekistan.

    A bright accent of the upcoming event will be a unique auto exhibition with a special exposition of supercars, organized on the initiative of the head of the FIA with the help of the organization's foundation, as well as private collectors from around the world.

    In accordance with the program, various seminars, exhibitions and round tables, competitions will be held until June 13 in order to share experiences with achievements in this industry. An extraordinary General Assembly of the FIA is scheduled to be held on the last day of the Conference. The main organizer of the event is the National Motorsport and Karting Federation of Uzbekistan.

    It is expected that this Assembly will become the most important platform for promoting motorsport in Uzbekistan and increasing its prospects for the future.
