During the meeting, issues of further intensification of cooperation between the Parliament of Uzbekistan and the parliaments of Arab states, in particular with the League of Arab Parliaments, were discussed.
T.Narbayeva supported the proposal to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation between the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arab Parliament and expressed Uzbekistan's readiness to qualitatively and meaningfully develop friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Arab countries in all spheres.
In turn, Adel al-Asumi stressed that the Association of Arab States, including the Arab Parliament, recognizing the leading position of Uzbekistan in Central Asia, is ready to further intensify cooperation in all spheres, in particular inter-parliamentary cooperation. Thus, a proposal has been put forward to hold a major economic forum in Uzbekistan with the participation of Arab business circles.
During the dialogue, measures for the export of agricultural products of Uzbekistan to Arab countries and the effective solution of transport logistics issues were also discussed.
In recognition of the high efficiency of the state policy on gender equality in Uzbekistan, an initiative was expressed to hold the first Forum of Women members of Parliaments of Arab and Muslim countries in Samarkand in 2023.
