The parties discussed the results of the visit of the Cuban delegation headed by Kim Yong Gu to Uzbekistan on February 7-10.
Kim Yong-gu noted that during the meeting with the Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Khodzhayev, the issue of the practical start of a project on the organization of joint scientific research in Uzbekistan in the field of growing a rubber-bearing plant of the dandelion genus was discussed. This project to obtain "green" raw materials for industry is important for increasing the scientific potential of crop production in Uzbekistan.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the formation of a joint working group to begin studying the climatic conditions of the regions of Uzbekistan, scientific research on the cultivation of a rubber-bearing plant, as well as attracting South Korean experts to conduct research.
The Ambassador expressed a request to take this project under the special control of CUBA and identify responsible employees to ensure its successful implementation, the news agency "Doone" reports.
Also, during the negotiations of the delegation of CUBA with the chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Geology and Mineral Resources Bobir Islamov, the progress of the project on the development of the tungsten deposit "Southbay" in the Navoi region was discussed. In particular, an exchange of views was held on the preparation of project documentation for further examination by the authorized bodies of Uzbekistan. Joint measures aimed at accelerating the implementation of the project in the Navoi region have been agreed.
Considering that this year is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, Kim Yong Gu noted CUBA's readiness to continue active work to attract leading South Korean companies and their advanced technologies to Uzbekistan for the implementation of demonstration projects in agriculture, industry and the construction of residential complexes.
