The first case was recorded in Uzun district of Surkhandarya region.
A joint operation by border guards and employees of the State Security Service and the Department of Internal Affairs led to the detention of two local residents born in 2005 and 2006 while attempting to smuggle 20 kg 374 g of opium and 41 kg 668 g of hashish from the Republic of Tajikistan.
Later, their accomplice (a local resident born in 2004) was detained, as well as the customer of the drug shipment, a resident of the Denau district born in 2000.
The second episode occurred at an international checkpoint at the entrance to the country from the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Border guards, together with employees of the State Security Service for the Tashkent region and the regional customs administration, checked the luggage of a resident of the Ferghana region (born in 1991). 7 kg 902 g of the synthetic drug "Mephedrone" was found in a marble slab.
It was established that he received drugs through a telegram bot at the specified location in Moscow and planned to deliver them to the customer in Uzbekistan. Later, the customer, a resident of the Bekabad district, born in 1985, was also detained in the Urtachirchik district.
The third fact was revealed as a result of the operational search activities of the Departments of the State Security Service for the Ferghana and Surkhandarya regions.
The activities of people who bought drugs from Afghan drug traffickers and were engaged in their sale in the Ferghana region were suppressed. A resident of Kokanda (born in 1964) and her son (born in 1993), who was previously convicted of a similar crime, were detained.
5 kg 878 g of opium and 3 kg 922 g of hashish, smuggled from Afghanistan, were seized from them.
In total, 79 kg 744 g of narcotic drugs imported from abroad were seized from illegal traffic during the events.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against all the detainees under articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Detention was chosen as a preventive measure. Investigative actions are underway.
