The event became an important stage in the regional preparations for the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, which will be held in 2026.
The meeting was organized by the Government of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Regional Office of UN Women for Europe and Central Asia, which was attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the senator informed about the ongoing reforms in our country, best practices and results in expanding women's and girls' access to justice.
The event participants discussed in detail the issues of strengthening the legal protection of women and girls, removing existing barriers to access to justice, introducing effective mechanisms to counter discrimination, and improving the system of assistance to victims of violence.
Following the meeting, a Joint Statement was adopted confirming the commitment of the participating countries to strengthen cooperation in ensuring equal opportunities and justice for women and girls.
