The Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the UN Assistant Secretary General, Director of the Global Forum on Landscaping and Forests Juliet Biao Kudenukpo, who is in our country on a working visit.

The issues of the development of multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, in particular, the implementation of projects in the fields of health, ecology, climate change, were discussed.

In recent years, a number of projects in the field of "green" economy, climate change, and trade development have been launched in Uzbekistan jointly with specialized UN agencies.

The FAO UN project "Capacity Building for the creation of an integrated and expanded transparency system in Uzbekistan to monitor national actions to combat climate change and provide technical assistance" is being effectively implemented.

The sides exchanged views on the implementation of new projects in the field of combating climate change, taking into account its impact on children, youth and women.

Currently, the Central Asian region is increasingly experiencing the effects of global climate change. The drying up of the Aral Sea has caused a complex of environmental and socio-economic problems in the region. From this point of view, during the conversation, the importance of implementing new measures with the active participation of the UN and its specialized agencies for the widespread introduction of "green" technologies and technical support for attracting modern technologies in the field of climate was emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, which was held in a constructive and practical manner, an agreement was reached on the systematic continuation of the dialogue, sustainable development, protection and promotion of human rights, as well as the expansion of the scope of jointly implemented projects.
