During the event, prospects for joint work on the modernization of the infrastructure of the border customs posts "Bobotog" and "Malik" in Uzbekistan were discussed.
For this purpose, the results of an earlier assessment mission at these customs posts have been analyzed.
In the presentation, special attention was paid to the measures implemented during 2025 to curb illicit drug trafficking through border customs checkpoints.
In particular, attempts to illegally transport drugs through the above-mentioned posts were discussed. It was noted that the improvement of the existing infrastructure will make it possible to increase the effectiveness of detecting customs violations.
It was emphasized that this cooperation will make a significant contribution to strengthening border security and strengthening the capacity to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent also took part in the meeting.
