Previously, there was no center here. The district’s appearance was transformed entirely after new buildings and complexes were erected along Keles Yuli Street. In particular, the main street was reconstructed and expanded. The Center for State Services, a youth center, a palace of culture, an amphitheater, a universal sports complex, a memorial square, and a recreation park were built.
41 multi-story residential buildings were erected on the site of old one-story houses. Now, more than 11 thousand people live in 2,536 apartments. 270 points of trade, public catering, household, and financial services are being created in the basements and on the first floors of the houses. They will employ 1,350 people, including local youth and women.

Social infrastructure received much attention in the renovation project. The central hospital, inter-district perinatal center, kindergarten, social services center “Inson”, and district history museum were put into operation.
Changes are taking place not only in the district center. Until recently, the drinking water supply was a problematic issue. Four reservoirs were built, and 365 kilometers of pipes were laid using funds from the Asian Development Bank. As a result, the population of 36 mahallas is provided with clean drinking water. Over the past three years, 218 kilometers of internal roads have been repaired and paved in the district. Work to improve the infrastructure continues.
Responsible persons’ reports on entrepreneurship development, employment, and lifting the population out of poverty in Tashkent district were also heard here.
The district’s economy has grown by 23 percent over the first six months of this year. Thanks to new construction and the launch of enterprises, the tax base has increased.
There are 70 mahallas in Tashkent district, where 62 thousand families live. Responsible persons and measures have been identified to assist 372 families in difficult situations.
As part of the planned projects, employment, and entrepreneurship programs, more than 34 thousand jobs are planned to be created by the end of the year.
The President gave instructions on implementing opportunities in households, stimulating entrepreneurs to employ representatives of low-income families.
“Tashkent district is located next to our capital. There are huge opportunities in housing, production, trade, and services. If the work is organized correctly, this district cannot be impoverished. Therefore, it is necessary to use the opportunities provided to the economic complex, mahallas, and go from poverty to prosperity”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
It is expected that by the end of the year, the growth rate of industry in Tashkent district will be 9 percent and the service sector 13 percent due to the development of investments of almost $53 million. The goal is to bring the volume of exports to $100 million.
