Turkey's first Orbital Transfer Vehicle launched

Turkey's first Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV), the FGN-TUG-S01, developed by Fergani Uzay entirely with local means, has begun its orbital mission.

As announced by the Baykar company, Fergani Uzay Teknolojileri, founded by Baykar Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Selcuk Bayraktar, successfully launched its first OTV FGN-TUG-S01 into orbit on November 28, 2025, from the US Space Force's Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The vehicle was launched at 21:44 Turkish time aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket (Transporter-15 mission).

The separation of the first and second stages proceeded smoothly. After the payload separation process began, the FGN-TUG-S01 spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket after approximately 81 minutes, at 23:05 Turkish time, and immediately transmitted its first telemetry data, officially entering the mission execution phase. This flight marked an important step for Fergani Uzay in developing its space maneuver and transport capabilities, reported by aa.com.tr.
