Tursunoy Jabbarova brought the first medal to the Uzbek national team at the World Weightlifting Championships

    Uzbekistan's national weightlifting team won its first medals at the World Championships in Colombia. Tursunoy Jabbarova, competing in the weight category up to 87 kg, won silver and bronze awards.

    Our compatriot took second place in the snatch (112 kg), and in the clean and jerk - eighth (129 kg). As a result, according to the sum of two exercises (241 kg), Jabbarova was awarded a bronze medal.

    World Weightlifting Championships:

    Women, -87 kg:

    • 1st place Solfrid Canada (Norway) - 260 (113+147) kg;
    • 2nd place Eileen Tikmatana (Australia) - 249 kg (109+140) kg;
    • 3rd place Tursuna Jabbarova (Uzbekistan) - 241 (112+129) kg.

    Also in the night program, Regina Alibayeva, who participated in the weight category up to 81 kg, took 18th place with a total result of 220 kg.
