"In addition, citizens born before 1980 and living in the country were vaccinated against smallpox at one time. Thus, collective immunity has been formed among citizens of this age group. The smallpox vaccine they received also works perfectly against monkey pox and reduces the risk of spreading this disease among compatriots," the report says.
The ministry also noted that according to WHO, the epidemic of monkey pox does not pose a global problem, such as, for example, the outbreak of coronavirus infection COVID-19.
At the same time, do not forget about measures to prevent the spread of the disease:
· limit travel to countries with unfavorable epidemiological indicators of smallpox;
· do not come into contact with wild animals and rodents (including monkeys and rats), for example, during foreign business trips;
· observe the rules of personal hygiene in public places;
· keep a social distance, use medical masks and other measures if citizens with fever or rash are near you;
It is recommended to use medical masks on public transport. After exiting the transport, you should treat your hands with special means.
