Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in the field of higher education and innovation is being strengthened

    Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov held an official meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan Mohammadali Iskandari.

    During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, science and innovation were discussed.

    Minister K. Sharipov provided information on the results achieved in the field of science and technology development, scientific research and strengthening international cooperation in Uzbekistan. In particular, the achievements of scientific research and the selection of practical projects in the fields of information technology, agriculture, climate change, water conservation and irrigation technologies were noted.

    It was stressed that it is important to continue joint research projects and exchange young scientists between scientists of the two countries.

    The issues of continuing short-term internship programs for young scientists from Uzbekistan in higher educational institutions and scientific institutions of Iran, joint participation in international scientific forums and conferences were also discussed.

    Ambassador Muhammadali Iskandari, for his part, expressed support for the proposals of the Uzbek side. He stated that he was ready for further intensification of cooperation between technology, higher education and scientific institutions, and stressed the need to strengthen mutual efforts in the implementation of these proposals. He invited representatives of Uzbekistan to take part in the international exhibition held in Tehran.

    This meeting was an important step in the further development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of science, technology and higher education.
