Thanks to the political will of the heads of State, there is an unprecedented growth in bilateral relations, covering all aspects of cooperation, including inter-parliamentary.
On March 17 of this year, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva held a meeting with a delegation that arrived in our country headed by Deputy Torag of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Azygaliyev to participate in the next meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Oliy Majlis and the Jogorku Kenesh.
It was noted that with the support of parliamentarians, relations between the regions of the two countries are actively developing, as a result of which joint projects are being put forward. At the same time, during the negotiations, attention was drawn to the dynamics of inter-parliamentary cooperation, its further acceleration, the need to use the untapped potential.
The Chairman of the Senate stressed that cooperation with the Jogorku Kenesh of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan will be strengthened, attention will be paid to maximizing the potential of mutually beneficial relations.
"We see that the main task of the parliaments of the two countries at the current stage is to help and support the implementation of bilateral agreements at a high level. The Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between our parliaments is meeting expectations. I think that with the support of parliaments and the work of the commission, we will be able to achieve concrete results. From this point of view, the agenda of the commission meeting includes issues of political, economic, cross-border, regional, cultural and humanitarian cooperation that are relevant to the parties."
In turn, Nurlanbek Azygaliyev stressed that inter-parliamentary ties, which have been developing rapidly in recent years, play an important role in relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
"We are interested in expanding cooperation in the future. As you correctly noted, it is necessary to strengthen relations not only between parliaments, but also between committees. The dialogue of our parliamentarians will become an important factor not only in expanding large-scale relations between our countries, but also in improving legislation in order to legally consolidate the actions of cooperation between the two countries in all important areas."
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue regular cooperation and exchange views on issues of bilateral and regional importance.
