The meeting discussed topical issues of developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, science and innovation. The parties stressed the importance of bringing relations in the field of education to a new level.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on important areas of cooperation, and it was also recognized that a number of practical work had been carried out over the past period.
In particular, the Uzbek side has allocated one hundred state grants for Kyrgyz students, and currently 360 Kyrgyz students are studying at higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan. A scientific grant project on water resources management is being implemented jointly with the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" and scientific institutions in Kyrgyzstan. In recent years, a forum of rectors of higher education institutions has been held in both countries, and more than 90 cooperation agreements have been signed.
In addition, the parties agreed to establish a research center for the development of pilgrimage tourism, as well as to consider the possibility of implementing a sustainable energy project with Ferghana State Technical University and Kyrgyz universities for the construction of a microhydroelectric power plant.
At the end of the meeting, they expressed confidence that this cooperation would contribute to the further strengthening of friendly relations between our countries.
