    Uzbekistan Airways JSC has announced amendments to the rules of passenger transportation on domestic routes as prescribed by the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection.

    Previously, there was a rule according to which, if a passenger did not appear on the first flight, his ticket for the return route was automatically canceled. For example, if a customer purchased a Tashkent - Urgench - Tashkent ticket, but did not use the flight from the capital, then upon returning to Urgench, his return ticket was considered invalid.

    This rule has now been changed:

    • If the passenger has notified the airline in advance about the impossibility of the flight or has decided to cancel the first leg of the route, the ticket can be reissued or refunded as part of the paid fare.;
    • if a passenger does not show up for the first flight without warning, they will still be able to use the ticket for subsequent sections of the route without reissuing. However, the cost of the unused first section will not be refunded - a fine of 100% will be deducted.

    At the same time, the airline retains the obligation to refund to passengers the amounts of airport and own fees for unused route segments.

    The innovations in the "Rules for the Carriage of Passengers and Baggage by Air" are aimed at strengthening consumer protection and comply with the norms of legislation on the protection of citizens' interests.
