    Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are considering issues of mutual recognition of biometric ID cards for citizens' travel

    It is expected that the adoption of this decision will make it possible to intensify trade, economic, cultural and tourist ties between the two countries.

    As part of online negotiations between representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan with the participation of employees of the consular and legal departments of the Foreign Ministries of both countries, the possibility of recognizing biometric ID cards as a document for crossing the borders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was discussed, the Dune news agency reports.

    This step will simplify the movement of citizens, strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in the field of migration policy. The convenience of travel will be enhanced with the use of biometric ID cards, allowing citizens of both countries to cross the border without having to issue a passport.

    It is expected that the adoption of this decision will make it possible to intensify trade, economic, cultural and tourist ties between the two countries.
