Uzbekistan and Iran expand economic cooperation

    On November 10, the head of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Atabak.

    The parties discussed the expansion of trade and economic ties, the implementation of joint projects and the strengthening of mutually beneficial partnership.

    Special attention was paid to cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, logistics, pharmaceuticals and tourism. Specific initiatives to establish joint ventures and promote products to regional markets were considered.

    Following the meeting, it was noted that the volume of mutual trade in 2024 amounted to 500 million US dollars. As of September 1, 2025, 222 enterprises with the participation of Iranian capital are operating in Uzbekistan, implementing projects in the construction, transport and pharmaceutical sectors.

    The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere and was an important step towards further expanding practical cooperation and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
