The delegation included representatives of 13 leading universities of our country, and the main purpose of the visit is to bring scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
On June 10, 2025, Otabek Makhkamov held an official meeting in Beijing with Chen Jiaqiang, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. During the conversation, the parties discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of science and innovation, the creation of joint research centers, the expansion of the number of scientific projects and the implementation of long-term programs in promising areas.
During the meeting, agreements were reached on developing a roadmap for cooperation in science and innovation for 2025-2030, organizing annual scientific forums, expanding internship programs for young scientists, and increasing the number of joint projects from 30 to 60 per year.
It should be noted that since 2019, a competition for joint scientific projects has been held between Uzbekistan and China on an ongoing basis. So far, 50 projects have been financed totaling more than 65 billion soums.
A seminar on Uzbek-Chinese scientific and technical cooperation was also held.
The delegation of Uzbekistan actively participated in the event, noting the progressive development of bilateral relations, an increase in the number of joint projects and the amount of funds allocated for them. During the meeting, proposals and initiatives for further expansion of cooperation were announced.
