The parties discussed cooperation in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors, logistics and trade, the supply of aviation fuel for Uzbek airlines, the expansion of exports of fruit and vegetable products, as well as issues of mutual recognition of standards and laboratory accreditation.
The meeting with Dr. Sabih Abdulaziz Al-Muhaizim, Minister of Electricity, Water Resources and Renewable Energy, Acting Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economic Affairs and Investments, was devoted to the prospects for deepening investment cooperation, expanding bilateral trade, the initiative to establish the GCC-Central Asia Development Fund and other areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. partnerships.
During the 2nd meeting of the Uzbek-Kuwaiti Intergovernmental Commission, the sides confirmed their mutual interest in further developing practical cooperation and implementing the agreements reached.
The key event of the visit was the participation in the Uzbek-Kuwaiti Business Forum and the Made in Uzbekistan exhibition, where it was noted that over the past five years, bilateral trade has grown more than fivefold. Promising areas of cooperation are the agro-industrial complex, petrochemicals, infrastructure, transport and logistics, digital and financial services.
In addition, meetings were held with Kuwaiti businesses in the fields of e-commerce, Islamic finance, construction, industry and healthcare. Following the visit, a number of bilateral documents were signed, creating the basis for further deepening the economic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
