    Uzbekistan and Malaysia are developing cooperation in the field of agriculture

    Currently, cooperation is being established between Uzbekistan and Malaysia in several areas of agriculture. In this regard, a delegation consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the leadership of Tashkent and Kashkadarya regions, as well as representatives of clusters, is on a working visit to Malaysia.

    During the visit, the parties agreed to launch joint projects in such areas as smart agricultural technologies, drone production, rice farming, fish farming, rubber cultivation, export of fruits, vegetables and silk products.

    In particular, an agreement was signed with Meraque on the localized production of agricultural machinery and drones at the Scientific Research Institute of Agricultural Mechanization in the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region.

    An agreement has also been reached between the Institute of Agricultural Research of Malaysia and the Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture of Uzbekistan on testing and growing new rice varieties in Uzbekistan that are resistant to salinity and drought. At the same time, Uzbek Devzira rice seeds will be shipped to Malaysia.

    Within the framework of cooperation with the Malaysian Department of Fisheries and the Uzbekbaliksanoat Association, Malaysian technologies for intensive fish farming, bio-flocking and shrimp farming will be introduced in Uzbekistan.

    It is planned to expand exports of Uzbek fruit and vegetable products and silk with the Malaysian Agricultural Marketing Agency.

    In addition, courses for Uzbek farmers and entrepreneurs to obtain a Halal certificate will be organized jointly with the Malaysian organization Jakim.

    At the Uzbekistan-Malaysia business forum, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Alisher Shukurov presented investment initiatives and promising projects.

    These projects will strengthen the innovative development of agriculture in the two countries and expand the export of Uzbek products to international markets.
