Uzbekistan and Mongolia discussed expansion of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector

    On June 16, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jasurbek Choriev met with Deputy Minister of Road Development and Transport of Mongolia Sandagdorj Batbold in Ulaanbaatar.

    The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the transport and logistics sector with the participation of representatives of the railway, aviation and motor transport industries.

    Special attention was paid to the development of international cargo transportation between the two countries. The successful completion of the first pilot flight on the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China-Mongolia route was noted. The parties exchanged views on the potential of this transport corridor, its relevance, and also discussed existing problems and possible solutions.

    During the meeting, issues of civil aviation were also touched upon, in particular, the establishment of direct flights between Tashkent and Ulaanbaatar and the development of tourist exchange.

    Following the talks, an agreement was reached to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation, implement practical measures and promote specific joint projects in the field of transport and logistics.
