During the negotiations, the parties made progress on the phased opening of markets on a bilateral basis and the expansion of mutual access to products of the two countries.

The talks were a continuation of the agreements reached last December at a meeting between the President of Paraguay and the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. At that time, a course was outlined to strengthen ties between Latin America and Central Asia in the areas of trade, investment, energy and food security.

Prospects for cooperation in the field of exploration and development of minerals with the attraction of investments and modern technologies, as well as the development of interaction between relevant departments and business circles to launch joint projects and form long-term partnerships were also discussed.
